Add-ons are used to extend Litium Studio and Litium Scensum with new functionality. This article describes requirements and recommendations on building new Add-ons.
It is easy to build new Add-ons to Litium Studio and Litium Scensum. Free Add-ons which have been approved by Litium, "Certified Add-ons", are available for download here on Litium Studio/Scensum Knowledge Center. Common Add-on types include:
- Starter Sites
- Integration kits
- E-Commerce Campaigns and reports
Add-ons can be in the form of source code or a combination of source code and compiled .NET assemblies and are delivered as a zip-package.
Certified Add-ons
In order for an Add-on to be a classified as a Certified Add-on by Litium, it needs to fulfill the following requirements:
- Information requirements: when uploading the Add-on, this information needs to be included.
- Naming requirements: The Add-on must be named according to Litium's naming standards.
- Versioning requirements: Each Add-on is compatible within a specific minor version of Litium Studio. The Add-on itself can come in many versions. Each Add-on must therefore supply information about it's own version and which version of Litium Studio it targets.
- Technical requirements. The Add-on must comply with technical requirements regarding technical compatibility, testing, browser and performance requirements etc.
- Deployment package requirements. Add-ons are delivered as a single zip-file with a specific structure and mandatory documentation.
Community Technology Previews (CTP)
Add-ons which are not yet stable can be uploaded to Litium Studio/Scensum Knowledge Center as a CTP-version. The name of CTP-Add-ons must end with the word "CTP" after the version number, see naming requirements for more details on naming and versioning requirements for more information on Add-on versioning.
